5 new entries this week. Two of them are seasonal. Highest is 'School's Out' by Alice Cooper, and then at 17 there's 'Summer Song' by Slade.

Also flowing with the season are Rob Harding and Mart both going back up the chart. Plus the Number One which connects to the weather in a certain part of the USA.

Other new entries are:

14 'Good People' by Jack Johnson. I like this one even though it doesn't seem to be anything special when you first hear it.

19 'Joyriders' by The Shed. This is a bit like Right Said Fred meets Dire Straits. It grew on me quite quickly.

20 'Burning' by Claire Simone. Wonderful piece of Jazzy Soul with catchy saxophone.

That`s a new Slade song for me that one.
Thought I knew most of them.

A bit of surprise to see Slade.

A bit underrated as a band, especially live.

Slade aren't just for Christmas

Don`t forget Slade`s mega hit was actually recorded in a very hot summer session.
I wonder if the Summer Song was recorded at the same time. It would certaonly have been some lateral thinking.

It's from the magnificent Slade In Flame album, track
4, full title Summer Song (Wishing You Were Here). After all these years still one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

I have a lot of the singles but only "Nobody`s Fools" as an album.
I seem to have mislaid "Slade Alive", which is a cracker.
Our young band were singing a melody very similar to "Everyday" at rehersal the other day, and I thought it might be worth going whole hog and covering it.
Allways good and interesting chords stuck in Slade songs.
