RIP Meatloaf 74 2 Years, 3 Months ago
First met him when my Rocky Horror Show opened in Los Angeles (he played Eddie).

I wasn't a huge fan of his stuff mainly because it too theatrical for my liking.(personal choice)

However he worked bloody hard to get the success he deserved. He did the vocals on Ted Nugent - Free For All album superbly.

One year later Bat Out Of Hell was released.

I saw him once live many, many years ago. He was an incredible presence on stage/showman. Yes very theatrical - hard rock musical theatre. Really enjoyed it. His work with Jim Steinman was remarkable.

I never got the chance to see him. I have the Jim Steinman album which I played last month.

I wonder if Meat Loaf was borrowed time. When he was mentioned in the press releases it was rarely about his music. He either collpased on stage which he did a few times or that he was getting check up by a doctor.

My favourtie 2 songs from Free For All. (Meat Loaf on vocals)

Very sad news, R.I.P.

He has three songs on the first look official chart

15 Two Out Three Ain't Bad
7 I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) (biggest selling single of 1993)
4 Bat Out Of Hell

He would have had more if it wasn't for the 3 track rule
