Radiohead reviews 17 Years, 8 Months ago
Radiohead New Album , first listen. - 2007/10/10 08:19
I was going to spend a long time reviewing this today, but it is one of the very rare albums, that take up your time so much that you actually cannot concentrate on trying to write something of a justified nature nature to describe it.

Yes, I am actually going to leave it at that.

Stunning, triumphant, arrogant yet personal, superbly recorded, easy to understand musical progressions in this format, still avoiding cliche, stunning strings.

Brilliant, enjoy.

I'm not sure that there are sufficient words in our language to describe this work? Majestic goes some way but falls a few degrees short.

Every single song is beautiful, listening to nude could almost make your heart stop.

It's a diverse, involving, layered and optimistic record.

A bloody triumph, other bands must listen to this with their heads in their hands. The bar has been raised.

I've only heard one track so far but my response to my friend who downloaded it for me was It's OK, Computer.

The nakedness of the album compared to OK Computer is what makes it stand out.
It has all the familiar ingredients but has made a very stark dish out of them.

Previously we were only treated to a glimpse of the beauty suddenly dashing out of these guys, this time, they have started and completed a work whilst playing on this element.
Hype and controversy helps, yes, but it`s brilliant.

The recording book has just been re-written, new listeners to Radiohead, will previously have listened to forms of, lets say for the sake of it, similarish works, covered and knackered to oblivion by sweeping waves of wet starchy layers.
Brilliant 5 stars, they create the human and electronic sounds in the head that you only dream of and wake up and never remember.

Years ago, Roy Wood performed a number called "Music to commit suicide by". I'm sure he'd had a premonition of Radiohead. I can only listen to them if I'm really happy, otherwise their oppressive gloominess would kill me off.

In fact, this wasnt the one I was looking for, but it was quoted back to me last night, pretty much word for word, I`m told the band liked it a lot.
So there you go Tipsters you ARE read, keep at it.
