First of all I am more convinced that the Jukebox in the Sky subscription streaming model is going to be the future.

I Predict that it will be bolted onto Sky or your Mobile phone package. I've said it mark this date.

I am currently listening to Spice Girls Album Forever, Dynasty's Greatest Hits and All Saints last album not the new one but the one with Black Coffee. Fantastic I couldn't do that with a record player.

The second thing. I am also watching the 20 greatest novelty songs. Songs you love and love to hate on Channel 9 here in Melbourne.

Just watched Right Said Fred and Black Lace. JK would love to watch this show. haha. Brilliant.

Love Right Said Fred, love PAPER Lace, allways didn`t like Black Lace, but then that was the idea, I think!
No JK songs on the show then? Shame.

Methinks there are very few record collections like mine, but I reckon KZ may well have a similar one!

Who Let the Dogs Out WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF ! That was there. Whatever happened to them.

JK I heard that song at Carnival years ago and yes it was a hit then and a hit with the eurotrash version when you got onto it.
Another carnival hit which i'm not sure if it is still being played. It's called "Follow the leader". Always got people going with the dance moves.

By the way Spice Girls "Wannabe" cracking novelty pop song as is "Who do you think you are".

The only Black Lace song I liked was 'Mary Ann', but it sounded so much like Smokey I think they changed to get their own identity, even though their new sound was awfully tacky. Oddly enough, Black Lace's lead singer later joined Smokey to replace Chris Norman.

I always liked Paper Lace. Unfortunately they were one of those bands which split up and then reformed as several different Paper Laces. I saw one a few years ago at a 60s revival and didn't recognise any of the members. Were they actually around in the 60s?

Also on that stage were Marmalade (original line up), The Fortunes (mostly original line up) and Jimmy James and the Vagabonds. I grabbed a few words with Jimmy after the concert and he's a very friendly guy.

I don't subscribe to Sky, and probably never will, so I doubt I'll be using their jukebox. I still play a lot of vinyl. Stuck in my ways, and every scratch recalls a memory.

Why am I suddenly humming a Jethro Tull song ...?

"Outside their lives go on much faster.
Oh, we won't give in,
We'll keep living in the past."

Have to admit that 'Who Let The Dogs Out?' is near the top of my list of most annoying records of all time.

Probably why it was a hit.

If you knew how long I had to work to find anyone who thought Dogs was a hit except me and my then 6 year old nephew William (now 16 and asking for career advice - he thinks he wants to be a journalist!).

Finally after EIGHT dinners and much ear bashing my friend Steve Greenberg saw the light and covered it with the Baha Men.

Tell me more, I don't have Sky, how does the Jukebox work?

I actually first heard of "Who Let the Dogs Out?" by text.
Someone sent me one of those early texts with a dog drawn out of number "1"s and a message asking the question, to which I didnt reply and the answer was of course the inevitable three woofs or so.
Clever marketing actually, did someone actually start that as a "chain text" does anyone know?

Well i think that says it all really for the music industry. You only had to see everyone go mad for it at Carnival and a 5 year old knew it would be a hit. Funny with all the novelty songs and catchy pop ditty info that is coming my way. Someone up there is trying to send me a message methinks.

With the state of the world as it is i think the last thing we need are over serious musicians.

And just for you all a little Bible quote for all my religious and non-religious friends.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking and yet you called him a drunkard and a glutton.

The Great Lord had humor and enjoyed his life while he was on earth. Told simple stories and changed the world.

I think artists should take note of that, when tempted to be 'artistic'. Yes I include myself in that.
Now let me go and find a simple tune.
Oh for all of you dance boys I will post the link for
DJ DeeKline I don't smoke. A novelty Garage tune that all the serious DJs hated but the kids loved. Even I loved it but then I was used to the Postman Pat tune having had 2 littluns at the time.

Have a good snowy day in blighty.

Ps Watch I don't smoke on my myspace as I can't go and dig out the link.
