We listen to (or, rather, watch) Please Please Please - one of the most successful singles by Sabrina Carpenter. It's dreadful.
Why? Because it's simply a photo copy pop track recorded in order to appeal to a tiny percentage of fans attracted by a pretty (?) girl catering to viewers attracted by a glossy, expensive video that looks like a mini movie (check out the length of credits) with stupid idiotic lyrics (like Taylor Swift), a weak, non Mass Appeal tune, bad harmonies but ticking the necessary boxes for multiple views and streams by those who like her or it. Think BTS. One Direction. All the other superficial, minority appeal artistes making useless, deaf record label or publishing executives profits in this current simplistic social era.
No talent anywhere involved.
No originality anywhere.

I agree JK, in her song Nonsense, the opening lyric is Think I Only Want One Number In My Phone, I Might Change Your Contact To Don't Leave Me Alone. That is something Taylor Swift would write.

She is lucky that her aunt is very famous and has the right connections, Sabrina vocals have to seem to be done through autotune or done through Pro Tools. Whatever happened to female singers like Reba McEntire and Patty Loveless who had clear-cut vocals and could hold notes without warbling and there was no need for AI?

Record companies only want what is marketable to dumb down the masses, bands with real singers and musicians can't get a break despite having talent unless they are in a tribute band or cover band with a good manager.

My friend Kevin and I used to amuse ourselves in the swimming pool by playing "name that tune" underwater. One of us would sing and the other would guess. It is a wonder we survived.

I really cant explain why, but everything this woman sings sounds uncannily like Kevin underwater.

Tell this Kevin to change his sex and he might be worth a few million in the next few years.

Also whatever happened to raw and cacophonous vocalists like John Fogerty and Patty Smith? It can't because we are just getting older, can it?

Brilliant story Honey, that sounds good fun.

There's a brand new updated gameshow idea here to follow on from Lionel Blair's 80's version.

Poor old Kevin is long gone, sadly, but he did have an incredible voice.
It was his downfall really, because he made it so easy for me to thrash him at guessing the tune.
