I have mixed feelings.
A huge ingredient in the charm of the original was that it was young and energetic and it was new and unusual.

It's neither of those now and I do worry about grey haired old men performing their youthful hits (Jimmy Page played accoustic guitar on Everyone's Gone to the Moon).

On the other hand - the music is still great (my favourite was D'Yer Maker) and far better than much of today's inferior copies.

I think I prefer listening to the tracks again and remembering those happy, heady days - when sexual morality was different and I was considered perfectly normal.

So I turned down the kind offer of a seat at the concert.

I`m a huge fan and am lucky enough to have seen them live and a couple of Page and Plant gigs along the way, but I`m afraid I do have to say, that they have never been my favourite band live, anymore than tonights venue is one of my faves, so I did not even entertain the idea of going.
Very personally for myself, their onstage, albeit , excellent and pioneering soloing in concert has been lampooned by lesser acts to such an extent I find it hard to watch the originals and best.

But never a week goes by without listening to them, and admiring how honest and basic they actually were and never had the need to boast "no synthesisers" on the early records.

I`m glad they are doing it though, and I`m glad they are doing it under Ahmets` name.

Just had a conversation with a friend from decades ago who said "By the way, you do remember that in the early 70's you were FAR bigger than Led Zeppelin?".

It's true. I was!

Music had split into Prog Rock and pop (glitter etc) and I was the King of Pop.
