TOPIC: Eurovision 2025
#256477
Eurovision 2025 2 Months ago
Watched the France entry mid game and it is very ordinary; clearly written to impress like so much of today's music. Aimed at the eyes and not the ears. Imagine how much better What The Hell Just Happened would have gone down (France won).
Having now heard all the entries I reckon the United Kingdom will win for the first time since MY era (Katrina in 1997).
That year, having failed with Ooh Aah Just A Little Bit (Gina G) the year before (still, for me, the perfect Eurovision song), I realised we needed a great performance as well as a good song. Katrina was terrific; the song was OK; nothing else came near to being a hit and we won.
So if Remember Monday give a great performance with a good, hooky song (which essentially has great harmonies - always impressive live if they work) at 60-1 it's worth a quick bet. I've put mine on already.

I really like the UK entry this year; definitely Top 5 and could well win.

The UK entry has grown on me over the last few months. I think its much better than last years entry from Ollie Alexander, but not as good as Mae Muller from 2 years ago, which bombed. I think it will be in the top half of the scoreboard, but trying to guess the Eurovision winner is like trying to win the lottery

Not so Robbie - I won hefty amounts on Johnny Logan both times and on Loreen with Euphoria (at 7-1 long before it was selected as the Swedish entry - I put £100 on it).
Fingers crossed for What the F*** Just Happened!

Its a weird song, it doesn't really have a proper chorus. The song sounds like its winding down as soon as it starts, but I still quite like it.
And a message to the BBC. With Graham Norton, Scott Mills and Rylan, please, Eurovision is not just for gay people, It is for everyone. Women, straight men, families, and everyone else. With Terry Wogan and Tv for decades and ken Bruce on the radio, this wasn't the case.

I agree Robbie, each passing year, Eurovision gets more and more campy and gay.

Is it about the music or who can you use the most flashing lights and theatrics?
