Re:Rock Star - Nickelback? No; KING! 17 Years, 4 Months ago
Thanks for the laugh. Funny how well the video fits on it. As I was listening to it, I was trying to find the difference between the heavy tone of current rock and your track which is good, but there is an unmistakable "lightness" about it. It's probably the chugalong bass line. What do you think JK? What has changed production- or arrangement-wise over the years apart from valves being replaced by processors?

I actually never made real "rock", Mike, but pop in rock clothes.
Check out my tracks ... It's Illegal and also Living In A F******* Time Warp. I love them both but they are pop posing as rock, as Alice Cooper was, ditto Slade.
And even the big rock hits tend to cross that line. I think it's adding a really commercial melody that moves it into the POP arena - Iron Maiden with Hills , Judas Priest with Midnight, Aerosmith when joined by Diane Warren, Rainbow Since You've Been Gone etc - all pop.
I felt Rock Star was one of my best songs/tracks. It really should be dedicated to Kurt Kobain.
