I must admit that I don't "get" your stuff in general, Paul. I wouldn't know what to do with it if I was a label.

Good intro - not too long. I didn't expect the talky vocals with added echo (nice touch). The flute/piccolo/thingy takes me back to old festival days when people slouched around in daisy fields and saw visions in clouds. It's probably not majorly commercial, but it's more accessible than the Hejhog track. More of an album track than a single, if that concept is already out of date.

It's sort of 'Kids On Rainbows' part 2, but I like it.

Why is there what sounds like a child molester mumbling in the background?

I see an awful lot of pussyfooting around this guy's stuff. I think it's great PBS if you're doing this because you love it. But you must surely be aware that it's akin to the random noodlings of someone pissed out of their head at 3am using only GM Midi. You can't expect me to take it seriously.

No label would touch this, but as I said, I imagine he's doing it for his own enjoyment, which is fine.

SW, that is the most infantile response I've ever read on this or any other forum.

Could you explain why?

There is actually quite a nice song in there, the instrumental in particular.

Over all I don't like it.

I think SW has a valid point on whether something is done for fun or with commercial release makes a lot of difference regarding it's merit.

If the Cat means your child molestor comment I must admit it also struck me as an odd thing to say in response to a piece of music. Maybe you got caught up in the confusion of the Glitter thread.

I might buy it as part of a album but not as a single release. It's an ok song and with a good selection of others it might work well.

I deem my comment to be valid - the voiceover sounds jarringly sinister to my ears, bearing in mind the title of the compisition; how it could be taken as "infantile" is beyond me. I'm merely voicing my opinion. Grow up, The Cat

I must bow to your experience of child molestors, SW. I've always been told they look and sound like normal individuals and that's how they get away with stuff. lots of songs out there about kids and schools. Are they all Pedo Pop? How about Little Children by Billy J Kramer - Little children don't tell what you see - I'll buy you candy, take you to the movies, if you share a secret with me .. etc. Much more "sinister" than this one by PBS. But it's only a song. Let's not start branding all echoey voices on pop songs as child molestors. It's a slippery slope, and totally unrealistic.

Look, it's a bit jarring bearing in mind the title of the track. I'm voicing my opinion, so no need to be patronising, sarcastic and witless.

Isn't this thread getting a bit out of hand and off topic? Yes, there are consequences of making remarks linking anyone with child abuse, such is the climate of modern Britain. Some people could take SW's comment as suggesting that PBS is a child molester, even if that wasn't the intention. So, a little more thought would not go amiss. It was an odd thing to say, SW, but it's been said and we can all only go forward.

Back to the main subject. Skool Daze is fairly pleasant. I'm not sure about the overall mix but I'm not an expert music producer. As a mere listener I have heard much worse.
