Their brilliant accoustic version of Bleeding Love was stunning - I gather it was the B Side of the new single, which is also great, Standing In The Rain.

I was told it was released Jan 7th but no sign on the chart.

What's going on?

Link to the video if you want to hear what I'm on about..

I really find this extraordinary - literally no posts about it, no information anywhere... yet it is a terrific track and obvious hit.

On a major label - perhaps that's the answer; since the New Year the majors are like morgues.

I drove past Universal last week. Silent, dark, gloomy, deserted.

Is there nobody at Polydor who cares anymore?

I reckon you're way off the mark on this. Can't stand the song "Bleeding Love" and hate this guy's whiny voice. He's had two major label deals now and has acheived nothing. Far too contrived - his first album reeked of trying to fit in with the neo-soul brigade and the second one sees him trying on a singer-songwriter hat, eqully as ill-fitting as the first one.

Apart from that, he's great.

Perhaps everyone is with you SW but both his clever version of Bleeding Love and his Standing in the Rain single sound brilliant to me.

Am I alone?

You are not alone JK. I am definitely not a fan of Leona Lewis and I cringe whenever her version of 'Bleeding Love' is played on the radio. However, I love the acoustic version by JS and The Town and loved their video which I watched a while back. I discovered that the song that I couldn't stand was actually very good when performed by them. I sent them a message to that effect! Unfortunately it looks as though we will have to continue to endure LL as for some reason Simon Cowell seems to be putting all his effects into her promotion and it seems to be working. You can keep telling people how good someone is and unfortunately they start to believe it.

He's a bit too James Blunt really. And the original is hardly pulling up trees with his second album.

The problem with the Bleeding Love cover is it's a contrived piece of hype - he's using Lewis to try and break the charts. It's an increasingly used tactic - "cover a contemporary song in a clever way, pretend it's off the cuff and throw it up on YouTube". The video for it even ties in with the video for the single he released.

And one of the reasons you may not see Simon Cowell putting much effort into promoting Jamie Scott though, is the fact that Jamie Scott's on Polydor/Universal not Syco/SonyBMG

And on Miss Lewis - she seems to be doing pretty well in most countries on minimal promotion. She's only just hit the European trail this last week and a half and is having to play catch up as Bleeding Love shoots top 3 virtually everywhere.

Again, I could never understand why people hated You're Beautiful, which to me was a brilliant, obvious smash.

You see, not liking something doesn't count (the majority don't buy something). Only positives count and if I love Standing In The Rain there's a fair chance a few million others do too.

Bad work Polydor. You should be ashamed. If anyone who cares anymore still "works" there, come on and explain the shoddy job.

I wasn't having a go at James Blunt - there's enough who do that in the sneering indie-dominated British music press. I just think Jamie Scott will inevitably get labeled along those lines, and with Mr Blunt's lustre not at its finest at the moment in the UK (he's doing much better in Europe) it won't exactly help Mr Scott's cause. And then there's the fight to get past the likes of Newton Faulkner, James Morrison, Jack Johnson etc who are already elbowing each other for room in the market.

What he needs is to be adopted by a Radio 2 DJ or get a lucky break filling in on Jools Holland.
