TOPIC: Music Week
#26854
No News Good News?

Music Week 17 Years, 4 Months ago
Just got this weeks issue, if it get's any thinner they'll be able to send it out as a flyer.

This issue works out at 19p per page and apart from the classifieds there is only one half page ad in there, not a good sign and with an ABC primary circulation figure of 7960 per week it doesn't look too good which is a real shame.

When you think we get more VIEWS to the Tipsheet board (let alone Your Views) in a DAY than their weekly circulation, it's no wonder we all know Music Week will fold this year - and, sadly, quite right too.

It should have championed retail with suggestions and ideas keeping the shops open and thriving and boosting the online outfits.

This week I've had a dozen requests for where to buy EARTH TO KING paying with Paypal.
I've pointed them all at Amazon.
Every one bought it from there.

All due (I suspect) to the Bizarre Magazine feature.

Not one asking which High Street outlet sells it.

I meant to say how funny I found "I Hate Coca Cola" the other day whilst driving along.
Very much in the style of Alberto Y Los Trios Paranoias.

Do any High Street outlets sell Earth To King, JK?

BTW I saw a listing for a Jonathon King Enterprises in Islington area yesterday, while searching London Band info. Is that you or someone else? Just being nosey.

No High Street outlets even though Universal are distributing hard copies - I do find that, for the normal, decent but not huge sellers, iTunes for downloads and Amazon for physicals (which we have) is sufficient.

JKEnts does indeed exist but not in Islington - we're very W1 types Al!

This week's Music Week is even worse.

Dying days? Oh yes.
