Already (and the film has only been open online for 6 hours) there have been 197 views of it but the vast majority so far have not been WATCH NOW but DOWNLOADS for later viewing, with many choosing to burn DVDs for TV screen viewing later and with the majority selecting the xVid option for downloading - indicating (which we did know of course) many more PC users than Mac ones (shame).

Visits have come from all over the world with a hefty chunk from Australia (time zones? They must be awake over there).

OK - 197 is not many in the greater scheme of things but in 6 hours without it being announced that it is open online, is impressive.

I suspect most have come from the link on the You Tube video.

Thats a pretty high figure actually.
I`d be chuffed if any download moved like that on a first day.

The clue may be in the word FREE Mart... and may indicate to us the percentage of stolen or "borrowed" listens compared to the legitimately purchased ones.

But it is interesting considering we are talking a 96 minute full length feature film here.

That strikes me as exactly the reason - not wanting to detract from interest in you JK but I think this indicates how strong the attraction of FREE is - just like music, if you have nothing to lose you will download anything and discard it if you dont like it.

Dont make the mistake of thinking that these hundreds of viewers would have bought the DVD or paid to see the movie. Curiousity is a pwerful motive especially when it costs nothing.

I won't make that mistake but what does strike me is... WHY, if I can do this, don't the big studios do it for their blockbusters with paid watch and or download?

Interesting - it's now almost up to 400 and the Watch figures have shot up - so more are now watching it live than downloading it for later (which guarantees better quality as the Watch Live feature depends a bit on the fluctuations of the connection speeds).

I just downloaded the hi version quicktime - it took 25 minutes - then watched it.

Very good clear quality at full screen.

Laughed a lot. Highly original. I think this could become a cult classic. Being older (!!) I thought Eraserhead.

Just over 48 hours online - about 750 views, the balance has evened out with only the DVD Burn for NTSC (outside the UK) slightly lower than the others.

Fascinating.

As if to prove me wrong, the NTSC DVD burns have now equalled the PAL ones - I suspect it's a time zone thing; when America and then Australia wakes up and the UK is asleep, they log on and burn their DVD files.

Hopefully people don't mind the minute or two it takes to load up but I have to say, for live screening the quality is sensational I reckon.

One week online and coming up for 2000 people have watched it live, downloaded it or even burned it onto DVD for screening on TVs.

Not a bad start and I suspect the avalanche aspect will soon kick in if it's any good.

Of course, if it's not, it will dry up after the novelty value wears off and become a strange ignored artifact sitting on the shelf of history.

Either way I'm happy. It's been made and presented.

The Popbitch mention sent the VIEWS counter into overdrive with dozens every minute logging on and watching (we can tell when they log out and the vast majority stay tuned for the full 96 minutes).

Biggest is the low quality section but high is not far behind and then medium but all sections including DVD Burn are leaping upwards.

Several thousand additional full watches for the 96 minute movie and our server "has never seen anything like it".

Really fascinating - as the evening grows, the quantity of HIGH QUALITY watches and downloads increases. People at home? Wanting better quality?

Over 7000 people have now watched or downloaded the entire movie.

I reckon it will be over 10,000 by the weekend - as long as the server holds up (we are going to put up mirror image links so other sites can carry the movie, host the bandwidth and gain the huge increase in visits).

Interesting - many people decided to wait until the weekend to watch the full movie at leisure and at length - downloads up and over 10,000 viewers for the film in ten days.

Coming up for 13,000 in two weeks and building all the time as the word spreads.

Now predominantly Watch Live in all three qualities but lots of downloads too.
