A very interesting article about the brilliant teen Nashville/Disney 15 year old singer Miley Cyrus and the furore over her pictures for Vanity Fair.

The media seem to have huge double standards over pushing "teen girls in their underwear ( Britney - Billie - Rhianna etc ) but then attack this fairly nondescript photo of Miley Cyrus.
Therefore I think the writer of this article seems to have a really valid point.
It also shows that JK's argument about Wilde About Boys is spot on as well.
It is very easy for people to "twist" words to try and sound "politically correct" about such issues.
For me it is the Government and media who are "encouraging" underage sex ( eg Sex lessons for 8 year olds - contraception for 10 year olds - parents not informed anymore of what their 11 year olds are doing - allowing Paedo websites to operate without asking ISPs to filter them out - allowing the media to show videos of teenage girls in their underwear 24/7 ) The Sun used to have 16 year old schoolgirls in their knickers topless all through the 1980s and early 1990s - and the News of the World. Yet they now spend much time pretending to take the moral high ground - after they basically dug the foundations for the types of actions that they now decry.
The "GROOMERS" are The Sun - The News of the World - The Star - The Sunday Sport - The New Labour Party. They are the people who should be put on trial for the sexualisation of children in the UK. Anyone with any sense knows this but we are generally a silent majority.
That is why JK most people will smile at you on the street and understand how you have been "used" by these people to detract from what THEY are doing. That is why I hope your musical succeeds in at least questioning the "system" which though the LINK is about the USA is just as prevelent in the UK.
I also feel very sad for Miley Cyrus to be "used" in this way by the media. Hopefully in the UK she can still have a decent singing career - you only have to look at Britney to see what the USA media have done to her.
