TOPIC: Summer Tip

Summer Tip 17 Years ago
I'm not really much of a fan of rap and TBH, this to me is totally typical of rap lyrics, nothing here that hasn't been said before which is a shame.

But before you hit the back button, check it out:

www.myspace.com/zaktunes

The track I can hear playing in the background while you're sipping drinks at a BBQ is "Hope (ZAK Remix)".

Unsigned too by all accounts.

Like the track more than the rap.

I really don't think rap has developed enough since the early days. It needs to grow.

Ah........" cruising in the car you spent all day waxing..Summer breeze, makes me feel fi--ne etc....".

It certainly has been aimed at it`s market there.
It`s really , really good, I love the horns especially.
But , have we all not noticed that none of us really like it? We just know it`s good.
I suspect Zoo is only slightly keen.
That`s an interesting one.

It would have been an idea to mix it.

Unsigned? Er, you are aware it's an unofficial remix of a Nas track? For Christ's sake, are there any informed people on this board?

Yes, all but you it seems. I also know what's been sampled for the backing, that's just how smart I am, so ner.

Both tracks have been released in their own right, but this mix hasn't and is currently unsigned, as is the producer/remixer, whatever you want to call him.

Producers/remixers don't tend to be signed.

The reason why the mix is unsigned is because it's an unofficial remix that wouldn't get clearance. Der.

I suggest in future that before posing a question like, "are there any informed people on this board?" that you ensure you have at least a small amount of knowledge of the subject.

More surprised than not keen

On paper I "wouldn't like" this but I'm rather taken by it. Most certainly I agree with your point that we know it's good - it is

An interesting tip.

I have heard worse rap, but this doesn't do much for me. It's not what I'd call good, when I compare it to such greats as Rappers Delight or Back On The Block or Walk This Way. I'd call it average.

Bit different, isn't it with Mark Ronson? He has an artist deal. Well, if you choose to be pedantic, I'll be the same...

"Walk this wWy" is another matter. I re-heard the original recently and turning that into the global hit it later became was pure genius.
