Interesting Oasis/Sony deal 16 Years, 12 Months ago
see the Guardian.
Comments please.

My personal feeling is that the band has been a spent force for years. Why bother?
Answer - because none of the old brigade (like Ged) know how to find or break new talent.

I think that the most important thing about this deal is that once again, a major is turning to one of the old faithfuls for advice in sales.
I can`t see Oasis coming out with another classic album and no offence to Noel as he is lovely fella, but I suspect he believes that too and would like to explore other avenues.
We have to applaud the bands accuracy in recreating their albums live but the amount of illegal downloading that has happened to them mocks this ethic at it`s roots and I would like to see them relax more live on performance.
Sooner or later, they will fall into the "thanks for the live album but you need not have bothered "category.
Immaculate copies of their studio songs but with cheering at the end.
Sally can indeed wait....

Yes, this deal makes more sense for Oasis (more money for their old records) than for Sony BMG.
