I love it. I normally avoid anything that has been hyped hence I hadn't listened to it before now. I listened to it today and loved it. Just wanted to share that with y'all.

I love it as well and I am not a Coldplay fan. The best indie genre album of the decade so far.

All very well but can Chris Martin actually sing? Or does it not matter?

I have always regarded Coldplay as the Emperor's New Clothes. Is anyone brave enough to join me in three very simple facts:
A. They are not a very good band.
B. Chris Martin has a very weak voice.
C. Everything they do sounds like the last one they did.

Does it matter? No. They connect with their audience and that is all that matters. As Bill Wyman said about Guns & Roses, "people like 'em".

Big End but that is the secret ingredient, the angel dust the magic formula.

For all the criticism of Coldplay you could say the same thing about:

Elvis, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Madonna, The Spice Girls, Britney SPears and many others, as have many a critic.

I think a lot of Coldplay's stuff is boring but this new album got me. Don't think I will be a devoted fan though but you never know.

I've always found Coldplay deeply gloomy. Roy Wood had a track called 'Music to commit suicide by', and I think Coldplay wrongly took that as professional advice. This new album is a slight step in a better direction but, but overall it still leaves me feeling depressed.

Maybe it's the state of the world which makes them popular. Misery loves company.

I wish them success, but I won't be listening to that album again. I intend to put it behind me and try to enjoy life.

I had never really listened to Coldplay, then I met Chris one night, and he was a truely lovely and genuine muso.

It`s wierd hearing this amazing album come from such an unassuming bloke and even odder seeing his stage persona currently.

Only the one first impression, but he was nice and ordinary, I don`t envy him in his public portrait which he has has to paint along with and support of course.

See though? There are classic albums still being made, I urge you all to buy the Neil Diamond one as well.
