iTunes and tunecore system query 17 Years ago
having signed to tunecore last summer we tested the system by buying five of our own songs from itunes and still have no sales reported by tunecore. I know things can take time and five sales is only a small number to acknowledge but by now it should have shown up in the reports. Does anyone know if there have been any problems with either itunes or tunecore software which might explain delays. Tunecore just tell us that they rely on reports from itunes. Its not the money we worry about its whether accurate info is being returned by the outlets.

Thanks

They can be amazingly slow, mainly Itunes fault.
Also checkout the barcode, sometimes they are issued but you may have to register it yourself.
Check that you gave them the right IRSC.

When you go to your account page, are you refreshing to make sure its current? You can download sales in a CSV file, from there.
How did you pay? Check that the payment was debitted
If all else fails ask them to check. They dont bite.

That is incredibly slow though guys, you should have had that dosh through by now, I suggest you contact them.
The Rhapsody "preview" rates alone should have come through by now, and should be , albeit small, pretty regular.

We have only ever had had 2 Tunecore/ITunes problems here. One was a sleeve was "Too white"(???) the other was the an album was sent to the wrong territories by the ITunes Program.
Our song tallies with them are over 3 figures here and on the whole they are good eggs.

You could also check Official Charts data. Even if your title hasn't sold enough, if you do a song search, the sales should show up - Assuming you've registered the ISRC with catco/ppl.

Well said Olive.

I can`t express enough to acts to UK acts to register with Catco if they are with Tunecore.
With our Co-op label here, we make that the bands` job to do, if they want UK chart noting.
In exceptional cases , we do it for them, but being realistic about "hits" or long term sales we leave the ISRC codes as they are.
I think, we are doing this correct, if you have any further thoughts, I would be pleased to hear/read them.
