A rather tawdry piece of propaganda JK. Photos of drug convicted athletes mixed with black and white shots of Nazis is pretty puerile stuff and as for listing Hitler and Blair together, that really is beneath even you.Not one of your better efforts.

I think you're seeing a little more than is in there Walter, but different strokes for different folks (PS I bet Blair and Bush are responsible for more innocent deaths than Hitler and Saddam added together - mind you, Jesus Christ leaves them all standing).

How many deaths was Jesus Christ responsible for? Just because some people claim to kill in his name, doesn't mean he would have blessed their actions. All of his teachings were of peace and love. It's quite a fantasy trip to claim that he was responsible for more deaths than anyone else. If someone went out and killed your accusers and said they did it for you, would that make you responsible? I think not.

You're right Denise but I doubt if Hitler actually killed anyone himself - it was his teachings and philosophies - just as Blair and Bush never actually pulled the trigger but millions of innocent Arabs have died due to their actions.

The words of Christ in the Bible are terrific but the misinterpretation has lead to crusades, mad killers and loonies, Ulster...

There's nothing wrong with Islam except the mad people who think that by murdering people they get to screw virgins in heaven.

But still religions and political ideals lead to tragedy when the brain dead get their hands on them.

Herein lies the difference. Hitler, Bush and Blair gave orders for their soldiers to kill the enemy. Jesus gave no such orders. So, it wasn't just Hitler's teachings and philosphies, it was his direct orders as a military commander. No need for misinterpretation there.

Evidently you haven't read the Quran, JK. Here's a quick copy and paste job showing some of its teachings. Those nutters are doing exactly what their scripture tells them. The fact that all Muslims I know are decent people is testimony to their own humanity and not to their religion.

Quran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers wherever they find them (2:191), murder them and treat them harshly (9:123), slay them (9:5), fight with them (8:65 ), strive against them with great endeavor (25:52), be stern with them because they belong to hell (66:9) and strike off their heads; then after making a

Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

This Jesus isn't all love and light is he?

Indeed not, zooloo. All three of those monotheistic primitive dogmas are nothing more than death cults.

Why humankind, with the scientific knowledge we now have, hasn't woken up and kicked such shit in to touch is way beyond me.

However, I would like to point out that Islam does trump the other two fairy tales in terms of pure evil. There is some seriously nasty warped stuff running right through the Quran.

Yes but... (and I'm as against organised religion as anyone Anthony) - they do a lot of good in some areas.

The stupids need a moral direction and all three provide some very good moral codes and touchstones.

To be fair it does say the opposite too.

If you seperate any sentence or phrase from the main message you can easily misinterpret. Jesus is talking there about using a 'symbolic' sword to clearly seperate his followers from the rest of the world. The sword represents division. He is saying that his followers must sever their links to the extent that they must put him first above all else, even before family. This will cause division within families and friendships, but is not an encouragement to take up arms or kill.

Our "scientific knowledge" is limited to our understanding, and scientists keep disagreeing and changing the "knowledge".

When mankind can exlain space and infinity, I'll begin to think we might be getting somewhere.

There is so much beyond our understanding.

"The sword" image is used by the writers of the Bible often when it is linked with truth. e.g The Sword of Truth - or cutting through to the heart of things.

Therefore to try and take a sentence out of context like that is like the GUARDIAN advert which used to be shown on TV/

JESUS throughout his teachings stressed love - and loving our neighbours AND our enemies. The Parables all followed this message.

There is nothing in the Gospels as far as I am concerned that suggests that Christians should wage war or fight with weapons. In fact the opposite is true if you read the texts.

The fact that some "organised religions" have killed in the name of God does not make it God's fault.

Each of you posting on here I could hold responsible for BLAIR's Wars which have killed over a MILLION people - yet it was not done in our name was it ? I certainly as a citizen of the UK disagree massively with waging war on Iraq etc.

Rubbishing Christianity as an evil and warmongering belief system is just plain wrong. Jesus asked his followers to love on many many occasions. That as JK points out is a pretty decent way to live and one that I think actually trumps any other belief system because if people actually followed his teachings then the World would be a better place. Jesus also asks us to forgive our enemies etc. - if forgiveness became part of our society rather than hatred and retribution ( which is what our MEDIA and what I call the NWO preach ) then we would all get on alot better.

Thanks everyone for explaining and interpreting the Bible.

You manage to convey it so much better than the god who wrote it.
