I'd be surprised if it made Top 50 - it's a nothing song, which beggars the question - why dump two guaranteed Top Three smashes, change the name and undergo massive (I assume) expense?

The answer is, I suspect, MAJOR LABELS DON'T KNOW ANY OTHER WAY.

Coupled with the fact that Nick Raphael over at Epic is a lovely guy with not a clue about music; Tone Deaf in fact... the man who once told me with unshakable sincerity DANE BOWERS WILL BE THE BIGGEST SOLO STAR IN THE WORLD.

All of which is amusing, I suppose, and happens to 99% of acts anyway but the sad thing is - two years ago as The Vacancy they had recorded and co-written two global smashes and had youth on their side.

Why on earth did they blow it?

The "girls buying 9 copies" was way before my time, I have only read about this.

What has not changed over the years, is simply signings that nobody has any faith in to work the tracks of.
A+R move on and leave acts behind them, is it not a better idea to tie and act to the guy that signed them and not the record company, then do a further deal?

I have a lot of promo albums here from acts of which nobody knew who the heck they were as the people that dealt with them moved on.
I for one, find this attribute very disturbing to see it happening so savagely and with a chart position, or not,involved.
Why are people still throwing it at the wall and seeing if it sticks?
