This looks like a wonderful idea/concept, that has been launched in the USA.

I'm not sure we've found the "brave new world", but we must be getting close. Take a look at

The Potato system has been doing this with moderate success for a few years now.

Check out The Search (band). In addition to the site itself, bands and labels can post widgets on blogs, myspace etc to sell their wares, while purchasers can do the same and pick up commissions.
