I really like this song I found on Youtube. It's called 'Love You Forever' by Rusty and Fred.
I was trying to think what it reminded me of - maybe A World Without Love?
I see they ask us to contact them to find out how to buy. Problem is that I'd have to open a Youtube account purely to find out, unless they post the details for all to see.
Yes and that's another crucial point - buying or downloading must be absolutely simple and easy. Also, physicals must have really attractive extras to encourage Amazon purchases - and, by definition, since you no longer hold or touch or see the hard copies in person, they need to be less tactile and more ethereal.
Well it is stating the obvious to say that the horse has long since bolted on the You Tube issue, but probably only at around the time that the sound quality improved to a listenable MP3 rate, which it certainly was not at when the site was launched. I still cannot for the life of me think what the majors were stalling over at that time, but done now it has been.
The only problem with extras on physicals, is that is going slightly wrong as well. Some of the extras are just too much , not only for the companies viability for paying for them, but actually for the punters to own.
Now I adore a certain band that I won`t name, as I really do like them, but did everybody who pre-ordered the record from Amazon, really need, extra cd copies of it and vinyl copies without extra bonus tracks + the free download of same?
Coldplay have it right on the packaging of the newest album, it makes the consumer want to own it, with no frills.
Re;download gifts, has anyone tried the downloadable for free chart eligible tune yet with one months free `phone credit as a gift yet, oh, and chuck in a TV advertising campaign with it too! Doh!
