A new Number One, straight in for Dave Stewart's "American Prayer" which ties in the Obama's election as President. The best part of the song, for me, is the final chorus - If you get to the top of the mountain ...

Wonderful track from Get Back Loretta at 14. My favourite of the day.

The Sterians at 17 are very listen-to-able, but probably won't set the world on fire.

Libera deliver a song of Remembrance, "We are the Lost", at 20. Quite atmospheric and reflective.

Highest climber is Soulmate at 9.

Also good to see Smudgie nudging up to 2.

I rather like that Dave Stewart song. I hadn't heard anything from him for a while. There are several familiar faces in the video but I couldn't put names to many.

Yuk.

Will.i.am's reworking of "Yes we Can" is a far more impressive work.

Better lyrics, better delivery.

IMHO.

"It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can."

Stirring stuff.

I find the Yes we Can track less accessable than the American Prayer. To me it's a bit of a mess, so I suspect it requires a special taste in music. The lyrics are ok, but there's nothing else about it that appeals to me.

My favourite tracks in the Fab Chart are from Scott Slater and Smudgie, but Mart's is rather good too.
