She was 76 years old and died last night after a concert in Italy.

As a sub reporter many, many years ago, I met her when she was helping to promote some African event.

You know the way the obits generally talk about someone's charm, intelligence and warmth. Well yup, that was her to a T. It was also impressive to see how even senior diplomats deferred to her like royalty.
