Troubled retailer Woolworths has confirmed that it is in talks about a possible sale of its retail business.

There were reports, rumours and speculation about this earlier this year.
I think now with the economy in the state it's in, Woolworths is living on borrowed time. Very sad. One shudders to think how many more businesses will likely go under over the next year or so.
I remember Woolworth being bought by the Kingfisher group in the early 90s, so it won't be the first time it's been taken over. It's still one of the stores in my town I use the most, especially around Christmas. I hope it survives.

A lot of companies that were on the brink, or who stretched themselves with an acquisition, are hovering.
