He has terrific warmth and it's a delight to see an older host on TV.

I met him once on the beach in Puerto Rico and we chatted for ages in swimming trunks over a Caribe Hilton cocktail.

You've gotta hand it to Bruce... he's been on TV the same amount of time Cliff Richard has been making records - which is an interesting thought - and he has always brought sheer professionalism to everything he's done. He's certainly had an amazing career and here he is aged 80 fronting what is the most popular TV show on Saturday night TV... just like the old days of "The Generation Game" and Sunday TV with the London Palladium show! An extraordinary achievement.
