JK you are an evil man, for in Vile Pervert you have created an ear worm of a song -Mad Hatter's Tea Party. It's a cracking song, and I thought it must be something you had a hit with years ago... a song I'd not heard before...

did you write it for the film, or is it an oldie?

There are a fair few songs I like in VP,- catchy, witty-but this is a damned good song.

Thank you David - Mad Hatter is indeed a totally new song as you can hear in the lyric - my view of the judicial system.

The singer SMT/SLT has provoked huge interest - check out her version of the Stones song Have You Seen Your Mother. She's a very talented girl with a great future ahead of her. Like some of the other young acts (the Dastards came from this very board), I have great hopes for her.

Sometimes it's a good idea to distance oneself from a lyric and it made a change for others to sing words like Hatter and Shami Chakrabarti.

Plus there wouldn't have been nearly so much meeejah coverage (check out Shami) if I had put my name on them initially.

This is my favourite song in the movie. Neat arrangement, interesting lyric, catchy and a terrific vocal. SMT/SLT's work is definitely worthy of checking out.

She deserves to be big and still we get the increasingly useless Britney Spears dumped upon us all. No justice!

ok I've listened to the lyrics now- in fact I bought the dvd, so I have the delightful booklet with lyrics, notes and pretty pictures.

a further question JK, how did you find her?

I've watched "Have you Seen Your Mother" on youtube and really like that too.

I was looking for a good female voice for Hatter and a dear Tipsheet regular (who shall remain nameless) forwarded her photo and a couple of tracks from a publisher.

So she became SMT/SLT (So Many Terrorists, So Little Time) and was immediately picked up by Record of the Day, which made it a pick. Hundreds of reactions (extremes - loved and hated) but no deal offers.

I still think she's a potential star. We remain good friends.

Not only did she do it beautifully but (producers will appreciate this) very fast and very accurate. She's a joy to produce; suggest a change and she tries it instantly.

I've had dozens of E-Mails about the track.

I love the DASTARDS and the song SHAMI - and I had no idea it was you JK wot wrote it.
