It's mildly interesting following the Hallelujah vs Hallelujah saga, but it does distract from the overall spirit of Christmas. This is the time for peace, love and giving. The song most deserving of Number One is Terry Wogan/Aled Jones 'Peace on Earth' which is both a Christmas song and for charity.

X-Factor has taken the commercialism of Christmas that bit further, and the true meaning has been lost in the hype.

But, if one of the Hallelujahs must be at Number One, I hope it's Buckley's even if it's just to stop yet another X-Factor travesty.
