TOPIC: JK for The Brits...

JK for The Brits... 16 Years, 4 Months ago
I've had an amusing e-m from someone who thinks I should get the Outstanding Contribution Award at The Brits (for when I saved the event after the 1989 fiasco) as well as for winning Eurovision, boosting sales with the Record of the Year Shows, Genesis, 10cc, Rocky Horror and my own hits, let alone UK Records and the Tipsheet.

I've replied that they never give awards to Vile Perverts and congratulate Neil and Chris for getting it this year.

For the first time in ages, I may not watch the Brits.

I love Kylie and think Gavin and Stacey is passable comedy so not expecting much from the two actors, but I can't imagine any of the format to be fresh for the entire evening.
It will be opening band/artist plays, cue the presenters, get two people to present each award, band collects award and at the end of the show Pet Shop Boys plays a set (though I believe that they do deserve the Outstanding Contribution).

What would JK or for that matter anyone do, to improve the awards ceremony? The Maggie Thatcher crooning was still a classic Brit moment.

As for the Outstanding Contribution gong, I suspect that if JK had not been convicted, then he would have been awarded one by now. JK has and I'm sure continues to contribute to music and the C.V stands out, though you missed out Entertainment USA and No Limits, which showcased acts as well.

Well you "won" the MITS Trust Award a few years ago. The "Industry" fawned all over you and declared you a genius of prodigous proportions.
Of course that was before you were found guilty of your crimes and incarcerated.
William Hill will quote 10000-1 on you winning an Oustanding Brit Award , apparently.

I think they are being generous Walter.
And you know what? I don't give a flying fuck.
