I don't like it very much. The chorus mantra is naggingly catchy but it just seemed to outstay it's welcome.

I dunno... I could see this doing well on the Continent but not in Britain unless you get it played and established in the relevant resorts and holidaymakers may return to the UK demanding it... after all that is how quite a few summer hits have taken off. Release it under the name Villa De La Prevert or something daft like that!

Agreed. Sounds about 2 decades too late. Edit the video. The voyeuristic images only make it appear creepy.

I like it it's very retro but so is Duffy in a different way.
It makes me think of clubs in Majorca 25 years ago.
And the video is quite Eric Prydz.

Hate it.
It's repetitive and hypnotic and awful.
Big hit though.
Loud in a club it will sound like Armand Van Helden (hate him too).
Huge.

In the eighties, scruffy Gallic poet Serge Gainsbourg did a parody of the summer hit that went on to become... a summer hit.

The lyrics are really tacky too. Dig the funky clavier.

That's brilliant Mike; I love the black girls dancing!

You (and Serge) have spotted my intentions exactly.

Incidentally, mine was written and recorded long before his!

Oh god i hope not. Might make a theme tune to a reality show about drunken Brits abroad though. Not one of your better efforts JK. Be interesting to see the reaction if it did get to number one though. Spent an enjoyable hour listening to your old hits yesterday. Ive not heard Loop Di Love for years. Bought back some memories that did. Silver Jubilee party in Pompey Guildhall Square back in 77. Conga of about 1000 people. Reckon they would still do it today to that one.

Actually I think it's catchy if repetitious and could be one of those massive summer club trax - that goes on and on whilst the kids are drinking lots of water!

jk, when did you record yours?

as far as I know Gainbourg's was in '76.

but to be honest, both of you have done far better things

Both are from 1978 and I agree, neither are great but I think mine was before his.

Mixed opinions, clearly. I'm not keen on my track but it is hypnotic and does sound better at high volume in the sunshine!
