eurovision:the west will win? 16 Years, 3 Months ago
how will the juries vote?
in the estonian final i believe the public favourite was laura which received such low marks from the jury that it lost.
after almost total domination by the east in recent years and cries of political voting juries have been brought in
this coincides at the same time that virtually all the big eastern entries such as serbia, ukraine russia etc are rather poor and unlikely to be winners
this all seems to be set up for a western victory just what the ebu would dearly love to happen as there have been a few calls for some western countries to drop out
is jade right, is it her time

It is certainly true that the big players of late such as Ukraine, Russia, and Serbia are sending weak or downright weird entries, but the western songs are hardly world beaters either.
I wonder whether, in the current catastrophic economic climate, many countries are delberately avoiding the risk of winning and having to face the expense of hosting Eurovision 2010.

You are probably right. More likely the Netherlands would volunteer. They haven't hosted it since 1980, when they stepped in after Israel dropped out.
