I saw him live in 1982. I feel Lady in Red, although it kick started his career, hampered him in some respects as it got him labelled as a royal toady. His early work remains brilliant. The Traveller should have been a number one but in those days you couldnt give his work away. A and M stuck by him through those no hit years and their patience was rewarded. It was seven or eight years before he had a hit single. Couldnt see that happening today.

Chris De Burgh is a brilliant writer and singer! I am not a fan of lady in red either but it is still a great love song as is the lesser known Missing You.

Spanish train from his earlier work stands out for me, amazing storytelling! Even some of his 90's work is very very good.

A Spaceman Came Travelling was superb and my favourite of all was More Than This, never (why?) released as a single.
