I just been watching my minder dvds and the theme tune by Dennis Waterman- I could be so good for you will be a classic and a good song for you to cover. If revamped Minder with Shane Ritchie don't see why you can't cover it.
All JK covers are very interesting by making them heavy or poppy or just very bizarre. I just thought about it as a idea has it is very nostalgic to allot of people.
This song was written by Dennis Watermans then wife Pat(Maynard) and underated American singer Gerard Kenny who was also reponsible for the song at the end of "Widows 2". He also wrote a song for Shirley Bassey called "Theres No Place Like London". Dont think it appears on any Shirley Bassey album but it was put out on single and was used as part of a tourism campaign in the early 80s. Now thats one for JK to cover!!
And here is the video from 1982. Saw it for the first time ysterday. Thing is SB could still sell London better than most current artistes. She still sings the song on a regular basis in her live shows.
Very misleading this tourist campaign. London is not like that at all. And I noticed that they filmed in West End and used posh locations. Didn't film rough or grotty areas in which where's London has more off.
