And the strangest songs making the lowest regions of the chart and sticking around. See my "downloads and man boobs post" for a lovely example.

As we all know, sales are way down (even cheap downloads, still predominantly stolen)... the few that do sell are through iTunes which can reflect instant impulse - a) they are cheap and b) they are easy.
Modern world. 15 minutes of fame has turned into 4 seconds of attention.

Alexander only went in at 10. Presume all of it from weekend sales. The chart company have not yet updated the top 100.Fairytale at 2 in Finland (Urban Synphony at 10) and Yohanna at 4.

agree with what you say about cheap impulse buying JK but at the same time if Alexander had had a TOTP appearance after the win he'd have done even better.

Interesting - Jade was only 27; clearly the impact on both - all - Eurovision hits was just after the huge rated show.
So did any radio play Fairytale? I suggest not, apart from immediate news reports. Yet listeners clearly want to hear it. Bet it gets almost no airplay now. I think this indicates two things...
Re:Midweeks and Eurovision kicks in 16 Years, 1 Month ago
I was thinking the sameabout radio play- just checked the radio 2 playlist and Fairytale is nowhere to be seen- hmmm, that is the station where you'd expect to see it playlisted if anywhere.
