Note the improved results for UK, France, Malta, Denmark, Israel and Germany which would have scored much less if there were no music industry juries
As expected the diaspora countries Russia, Greece, Ukraine, Armenia and especially Turkey and Azerbaijan all dropped down considerably. The latter 2 clearly owe their lofty positions to diaspora voting as was suspected.
Number after brackets is the difference between the jury vote and the final result
1. Norway (312 points) -75
2. Iceland (260 points) +42
3. United Kingdom (223 points) +50
4. France (164 points) +57
5. Estonia (124 points) -5
6. Denmark (120 points) +46
7. Turkey (114 points) -63
8. Azerbaijan (112 points) -95
9. Israel (107 points)+54
10. Greece (93 points) -27
11. Moldova (93 points) +24
12. Bosnia & Herzegovina (90 points) -19
13. Malta (87 points) +56
14. Germany (73 points) +38
15. Armenia (71 points) -21
16. Ukraine (68 points) -8
17. Russia (67 points) -24
18. Portugal (64 points) +7
19. Croatia (58 points) +13
20. Lithuania (31 points)+8
21. Romania (31 points) -9
22. Sweden (27 points) -6
23. Albania (26 points) -22
24. Finland (12 points) -10
25. Spain (9 points) -14
This system was introduced after Russia only finished 5th on the Jury vote in 2008, though that was public and not music industry professionals. The full results were never made available, although Sweden finished in 4th place, miles away from their final position at the contest.

Shame on those so called experts for placing the lovely songs from Portugal and Bosnia so low.
I've always said the EBU should simply let me decide the winner
and who was your favourite Anthony ?
The "so called" experts" were probably not so professional in certain countries as I cannot see how musical experts would place a dated 80s Mediterranean disco song - with a guy whose voice was so weak, you could only hear the backing singers- so far away from last place
What this proves is that had Norway not entered this song and had their usual attempt, you would have had an average song (Azerbaijan) winning it thanks to their diaspora vote, plus Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and Greece would have all done considerably better. No great surprise to me
I hope they keep these juries in for next year as there may not be a Norway in to save the 2010 contest plus it was nice to see some of those guaranteed 12s turn into 7 and 8.
Welcome home Anthony
