US band co-writes song on Twitter 16 Years ago
Um, it was only a question of time, I suppose. US band Of A Revolution has just announced that it is open to co-writing a song with people on Twitter. The idea is that people submit lyrics (max 140 characters) to them on their Twitter page. They will choose the best and try and make a song out of them, turning the tweets into verses, choruses and breaks.

It strikes me that they will need a lot of re-writing to turn them into an actual song that means something and that fits a rhyming structure (which they didn't give).

Not sure if I'd submit to it. But it's at least a fun gimmick. I'd never heard of them before.

Yes - that's the point. Publicity.

Someone did a similar thing on Youtube - put out a request for lyrics, and so I submitted some, never having heard the music. He liked them and a colab was born. Zero publicity though, because Youtube was already old hat by then. Twitter seems all the rage at present.

I hope it works out for them.
