It's always been a good song but I suspect a certain TV commercial is partly responsible for Hey Jude by The Beatles coming straight in at the top of the Fab Chart this week. I must admit I enjoyed listening to it. The best songs live forever.
The most fascinating new entry comes from Underwriter at 12. For the first minute I'm wondering where it's going to go, but then I begin to realise it doesn't need to go anywhere. It's strangely attractive in a way that much of the late 60s early 70s underground bands used to be. It has it's own identity.
Larry Lane at 15. Good old fashioned accoustic Folk Blues. Not much else to say really. You either like it or you don't.
Danny Pagan comes in at 18. Intersting name considering he's one of the curent gospel crowd. Nice enough song, if mixed a little low. A cross between Barry McGuire and Garth Hewitt.
Steve Harley goes up to 5.
