TOPIC: Sad but brilliant; Michael set to dominate the charts
#46493
Sad but brilliant; Michael set to dominate the charts 15 Years, 12 Months ago
Sad that it takes his death (like Elvis and John) for people to realise just how incredible his music was.

Brilliant because one realises, when given a reason, there are millions still prepared to buy great music.

I do hope Man In The Mirror (which I kept telling Sony to re-release years ago) is the biggest single track.

MAN IN THE MIRROR looks set for Number One next week to match the Number Ones Album at Number One this week.

MJ would have dominated the charts this year IF he had done his dates - so although his death has probably unleashed massive sales he could have expected a big resurgence as 800,000 fans brought up more albums and the associated media frenzy.

I just feel a little empty. Looked at my ticket reservation this afternoon......and am so sad that I will never get to see MJ live again. He is going to be really missed and I was so excited when he announced these dates.

As I watch the quite extraordinarily inflated facts about Michael hit the meeejah, I'm more than ever convinced that the only thing that matters is... IS IT A GOOD STORY?

No wonder Justice disappears when truth means so little.

See my post in Your Views JK - I have just written a long winded post saying very much the same thing.

But BR - You were never going to see Michael Jackson live. Those 50 concerts were NEVER going to happen. (Some of us said that when the original 10 expanded to 50 - and it appears the Insurance industry thought that too!)

What qualifies you to make such an assumption? Just because ITS A GOOD STORY, doesn't make it untrue. In a perfect world MJ would be remembered as an angelic icon. Sadly, the opposite may be the case.
