The Planet 51 thread is worth a look too if u into Sci Fi. District 9 has been rated R (from what i have read) due to its violence. Check out the original short "Alive In Joburg".Its an amazing short and its easy to see wy Jackson picked up an option on it.

Loving the documentary style. Am i right thinking that this will be released in the UK come August? Its gonna be a biggie if they're releasing a sci fi film in the summer.

We get it over here on September 4th according to IMDB. I think the title is a reference to "District 6" a still empty area of Cape Town where the residents were forcibly evicted back in the days of Aparthied. Its really odd doing the bus tour of Cape Town and seeing this huge area of undeveloped land that was designated a "Whites Only" area way back in 1966. This link tells the story.
