TOPIC: JLS - Beat Again... means nothing to me
#47349
JLS - Beat Again... means nothing to me 15 Years, 11 Months ago
A clear example of a very talented bunch of kids who needed serious and intelligent development being produced with a very ordinary song, given the standard Vocoder treatment and then, I assume, getting hyped to No1.

Or am I being cynical?

It stinks of the Terribly Talentless Nick Raphael ("Dane Bowers will be the biggest superstar on the planet").

Yes you are being very cynical. So you don't like it, that's fine. I don't like it, but I recognise that in the current climate of boring songs it is pretty much a hit.

By the way no need to get personal against Nick. What did he do to offend you ? And haven't we all tipped an act to do big things for them to fail miserably ? Get over it. Lol (no offence JK)

Nothing personal against Nick; I quite like the little sprog. Just think he's totally useless.

One thing I have always genuinely liked about JK (and I've met him on a couple of occasions) is his great sense of humour (and of course his huge love of music)!

Sounds like a Britney Spears cast off. They will do a couple of singles and one album and get dumped like the rest of their X Factor predecessors when the novelty wears off. They remind me of "Du Jour" in the film "Josie And The Pussycats" All pointing fingers and silly faces. Come to think of it even the song sounds similar.

This is a parody right? Very amusing.

Yup, its a spoof of the music industry. Misunderstood on its release cos it was too vicious towards its target audience. Theres a lovely bit when the boy band start arguing over who invented a facial expression. The manager parachutes out of the plane and lets it crash. He then sets out to find the next big thing. Sounds like Simon Cowell.

Why can't you leave them alone. It's not a bad song. The production is poor when compared with the American stuff but for crying out loud if this was Poxie Litt or Danny La Rue, none of you would be complaining.

Either your sexist against blokes or racist against black Britons or both. Leave them alone and well done to their team for a successful result.

JK you can't have it both ways. You're either against the charts or for it. Until we have something better this is all we got and it is a great result to get to number one.

Ps: your paying Nick a compliment then slagging him off in the next sentence is rather priceless but wrong ! haha

I really like JLS but this is the worst kind of manufactured crap and the wrong way totally to develop the band.

If I'm wrong it will be a global hit.
If I'm right it will sink without trace in overseas markets.

Why does the title of this thread always make me think of Midge Ure?

Why you are thinking of Midge Ure is obvious, but what are you thinking about him?
