The X Factor used to be the participant up against just three judges. Now they are up against the baying mob. After reading Ben Eltons 'Chart Throb' I won't be watching X Factor or the like again. Although the book is a work of fiction, I couldn't help but realise a lot of what it was reporting was probably close to what happens in real life. Nasty stuff. Complete agree - they've ruined X Factor. Also completely agree - Ben Elton's novel. Throughout last year's series could almost check off each ploy in the book against a similar scenario in the show.
