I made a lame attempt to watch the first show in this new serious but couldn't get into it. I usually abandon it at the Boot Camp stage, once it gets into it's boring stage, but this series just didn't take off for me. For the last couple of years I haven't cared much about who won it. This year I don't care at all. I think the show has run it's course and should be shelved before it dies an embarrassing death. That said, I've no doubt the winner will be conteding for this year's Christmas No.1 (yawn), unless Susan Boyle's people get their timing and promotion right and beat them to it. That's if the public's goldfish-like memory hasn't already moved on from her.
Britains Got Talent and the Strictly Ballroom stuff are now the market leaders.
Have not seen one episode this series !!!
I think TV should have a "Show" channel for this sort of stuff and get it off the BBC and ITV schedules in favour of real stars doing concerts.
I just find the whole thing has been done to death. It was fun the first two times - but like Big Brother it is now a 90s idea which has run out of steam.
As for the Christmas Number One - it would be great to have a battle between songs rather than TV shows.
A pretty dodgy final 24 - the worst in ages but I do feel Joseph is head and shoulders above the rest, though the twin boys could work for Louis if he's very clever.
Those three girls with tattoos are absolutely dreadful.
JK2006 wrote: X Factor - I have to say I was far more impressed by the talent in Britain's Got Talent - especially the dance groups.
But even singers like Boyle seemed more unusual than this lot.Which is probably why the format of the show has changed to be so similar to BGT. Just needed the three buzzers and it would be the same. Not sure about your prediction JK, he's got a great voice technically but I'm not keen on the sound, he's also got very little personality.
