This release, along with Susan Boyle's Wild Horses will ensure SyCo will have 2 albums in the Top 5 come Christmas Time.

Westlife and Alexandra Burke could join them. Syco would expect them to.A very pop Christmas but probably a very profitable one for certain companies. First time for years, Universal's position as No 1 could be challenged and certainly reduced.

Yay! That's quite a delivery of quite a song.

Didn't see a Westlife album on the schedule this year. (if there is one, I expect it will be up there, but not Top 5 at Christmas). I'm not convinced by Alexander Burke. I think it will end up as one of the "also runs" - but will perform better than last year's Leon Jackson or Same Difference.

aren't all these singers rather interchangeable looks and soundwise? Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis, Jade Ewen?

(apologies for posting after myself)

I can't help but think that the uniformity of artists emerging now would not have happened a couple of decades ago.

Would David Bowie, Marc Almond, Boy George, Sinead O'Connor etc have made it through the Syco machine? I think not, yet we are richer for their presence.

I sound like an old man, yet I am just 46

You're right David and unfortunately most of the clones come from the talentless loins of Mariah the Pariah.

But if Simon has the balls to let Cheryl win The X Factor again with Joseph from South Shields, as he surely must, he may break the Syco mold.

Why would Joseph break the mold....most of the blokes on this years X Factor are just 2nd rate Will Young clones and from memory Joseph was much the same

I think Joseph has huge potential; he's very cute with a strong voice and given the right songs and training could be a global heart throb.

No - the three girls look nothing alike and are styled as differently as you'd expect any three random pop stars. You just need to compare the launch promo shoots for all three. And vocally there's not as much overlap as you'd presume.

On the music Alexandra's upcoming release is miles removed from the sound of Leona's debut - think in many ways Euro-electro-pop v RnB-ballads.
