Interesting that the entire 20 best sellers of the year have done over 400,000 each; but work out how many are STOLEN (or swapped) on top of that.

And then do the sums - at 79p a track, there ain't profit there for a major to exist, with album sales (as predicted) dying.

But music is alive and well.

Not an inspiring selection. My vote goes to Poker Face as the best of a bad lot but it will probably be Lily Allen or the X Factor judge. Quite interesting battle at the top of the chart - Leona Lewis looks like missing out on a No1 being overtaken by Black Eyed Peas. Well I hated PPPPPPokerface but surely it will win? I must say the Black Eyed Peas one is also highly commercial and catchy. And Broken Strings has a very strong tune. Maybe if I sought them out and listened to them again, JK, although that didn't work the first time round.
