Head for www.ROTY.tv and vote for your favourite now.

And while you're about it, check out Mike Hough's incredible version of Cheryl Cole's hit (in View) - I reckon it's far better than her take.

I'm not sure what would be my record of 2009. Nothing really stands out. It certainly wouldn't be any of those on the list.

Looking at the link im surprised its not called the Westlife Record of the Year judging by the number of times the Irish Karaoke singers have won it. In fact seven out of eleven times it has gone to acts from the Pop Idol/X factor Mafia Dons.

Yes - hijacking by teen fans damaged the credibility but it's back to normal now and after the first few hundred votes it's Poker Face just in front of Black Eyed Peas with Lily and Cheryl coming up fast.

You'll notice some other interesting versions of the hits - I want to encourage original versions (try Eric Hassle) as well as performers miming to the tracks and showing they have the Jedward ability to perform as opposed to simple karaoke ability.

I want loads of people making videos and putting them up for consideration.

Please don't just vote but spread the word too.

A clear line between the two, I imagine, is the way forward. The dividing line should naturally occur.

Exactly; we need votes to find the record of the year but we invite fans of music to enter their own versions or performances or films - that's the You Do Movies part. An extra element of entertainment hopefully stimulating creative imagination.
