Barry McGuire retains the top spot for a second week. If you haven't yet heard his new version of "Eve of Destruction" I suggest you check it out. Great stuff.
Highest new entry comes from Joe Brooks. "Sittin' on the Water's Edge" is a wonderful acoustic Folk/Pop ballad worthy of Dylan or Joni Mitchell.
At 16 there is Steve Lamb with another fine song entitled "It's Hard to Find". A bit of electricity in this one but also very retro, well written and delivered.
The at 18 is Kalai with a song called "She", which reminds me a little of early Cat Stevens blended with later Beatles.
Speaking of Beatles, the Russian invasion continues with Street Magic's rendition of "Michelle". Not only does lead singer Vlad Krutskikh, who set a new FAB Chart record today, wear the Rubettes cap but they also have the same kind of harmonies. They also bring back that early Teeny Bop feel to the music scene.
So the chart, as normal, has old legends rubbing shoulders with young wannabes, just the way the official chert used to be. Oh, for the good old days ....
