I enjoyed the Sunday show though I missed the papers and entertainment summaries and commentaries. By the way what happened to Michael Ball who, I thought, did an excellent job?
I was delighted to hear that Woganised Blarney again and Ian McKellan was superb though I must admit I can't stand Jamie Cullum.
Would be a shame if they dont have him back when the tour is over - he is an excellent DJ and along with the Jonathan Ross show these were the two shows I listened to on Radio 2 each week.
Not a great fan of WOGAN to be fair ( After all how can an ICKE fan be a big fan !!!! ) but I admit he has some talent and it is good he now is back on radio.
Lovely to hear Wogan again, although I agree about Cullum - if he ever does that 'crazy' tap-tap-tapping of the side of his piano again I'll smack him! I would have thought Wogan, of all people, would have sounded better informed about Beckett - after all, one of his appealing qualities is the fact that, unlike most other broadcasters these days, he sounds like he's read plenty of books! - but I guess it suits the interview to play the naif. I still think Tel would prosper better now in an evening slot, but we'll see.
I'm a Jazz fan and think Jamie Cullum takes some getting into, but he has grown on me over the years. He does things his own way and I cannot fault him for that. The abstract qualities of Jazz means it is not for everyone.
