We all know the agendas of News International and the Mail and the rest; do any of us fall for the "righteous indignation" of the tabloids when the BBC announces something anymore?

I'm getting terribly cynical about life as I get older.

Yes, it's beyond parody. And they all love citing the absurd 'MediaWatch' as the mouthpiece of the People. A handful of ageing Mary Whitehouse groupies from the Home Counties (some of whom I wouldn't be at all surprised if they'd hit their wives over the head with a shovel and buried them in the garden before returning inside to listen impassively to The Archers) speaking on behalf of the nation. They've deserved a scathing account of their self-important finger-wagging for years, yet no one seems to want to open the door on these wingeing wizards of oz.
