A mixed bag of new entries this week. The first comes in at No.20 from She and Him. It's a fairly bouncy number called "In The Sun" which would have been a big hit about 20 years ago, and could still be if the mainstream music media wasn't so limited.
At No.18 are CandyFlip with "Redhills Road". Part of the Madchester scene of the late 80s / early 90s I still have their MADSTOCK LP which contains this track. I always thought they were under-rated. Good to see them in here.
Another Haiti charity song, yet another cover of "The Prayer", fro Classical Relief enters at No.17. It glides along okay, but doesn't set the world on fire.
In at No.15 comes Matt Nathanson with "Come On Get Higher" which has nothing to do with drugs (I think). It's pretty good AOR/Americana.
Highest new entry is a collaboration between Jordan Jansen and Emily Harder called "Maybe / Baby". Apparently it's two songs merged into one. It's quite catchy and they sing it well enough.
My favourite song in the FAB Chart at the moment is from the Kentucky Headhunters who nudge up to No.3
The top spot goes to England World Cup song "This My Dear Is England" by Heroes Live Forever. Of all the 2010 World Cup songs I've heard so far, this one is among the best. Surprised it's the only one in there, but there's time yet.
Boy George continues to climb to No.6
