Re:Greyson Chance.....Interesting article 15 Years, 2 Months ago
They need to get with the times. The internet can make anyone a star overnight. The serious boost for Greyson Chance seems to have mainly been due to ordinary people using Twitter to recommend his Youtube video, along with quite a few Youtubers reposting his video on their own channels. Many people sent Tweets to the Ellen Show suggesting that she watch Greyson's video.
It was the fact that he covered a Lady Gaga song which caught attention because then the name Lady Gaga could be used in Tweets and Youtube searches. That was the only big media connection. His own songs had been passed over because nobody had heard of him. Actually his own songs are pretty good and it's good to see young kids composing their own music. He sang Paparazzi as part of a school project because the other kids could identify with Lady Gaga music.
And we all know how Facebook took a fairly below average piece of grungy rock to the Christmas No.1.
Actually .. we could argue that the internet is now the big media, run by the little people.
I would question the article's claim about high quality camera work. It is rather wobbly.
That said, it ultimately comes down to whether the kid has talent, which he obviously does. In which case, does it really matter who was behind his rise in popularity?
