If, like me, you simply do not get Sky TV, you'll have missed this series but Tipsters have been raving about it on here (The Tipsheet board still gets 10,000 visits a day). I've seen several of the finalists on You Tube and on news shows.

Sadly, for me, they are simply not very good. Not bad either but I've heard no smashes and seen no huge talent yet.

You see, photocopy imitations of existing talent - like The X Factor "stars" - fails but so does MBTM since it's just a different talent (self penned; real musicians) being photocopied.

Just because you write and sing your own songs doesn't make them any good.

As someone who feels Mariah the Pariah and Robbie Charisma are both talent free zones - one a glorified session singer, all technique and no soul, the other a one-time pretty boy with a vulnerable personality but no singing or dancing skills - I may be too harsh but that's the way I feel.

Having said that, my tip is Daithi who, with a decent producer, is at least original.

JADED AND BORED

You are at least consistent. As far as star quality is concerned, I think that went outta the window years ago. There are simply no
stars anymore. Lady CaCa is NOT a star, that's why she goes for the shock and bore tactics. Will I AM Not a star, Just in the Beaver,
Usher Jackson, B.O.B B.O.R.E and the like are all lacking in star quality. Britney used to be a star, now she is just Vicki Pollard's
younger sister and I am still getting therapy after seeing her vajayjay. Paris Hiltonthewane bores me to tears and Lindsanity Low Rider
well enough said.

As for the UK ones, Cheryl Coal should go the way of the mines, Pixie None is rubbish, Diana Vicar should retire and even Simon Cow Hell
is no star. None of these guys will matter in 5 years and none of their opinions mean anything. It's just a sad state of affairs really.

I think the standard is good. I think some of the acts have a future.

However, I agree a star has not yet been found. But when you look at X Factor and BGT many of the acts on there - even the winners have been shown to have no star quality in the end.

How many of them have fizzled out once the cameras have not given them weekly exposure....

I cant name a STAR QUALITY act at all that has broken through apart from Susan Boyle in the last few years on any TV show - Leona Lewis and Will Young. Girls Aloud and CC are talentless in my view and every other performer on X Factor and BGT.

We have created the stars out of nothing.

The BOWIES and ELTONS and GEORGES ( Boy and Michael) dont seem to exist anymore. The music industry turns them out from their Brits Schools like PACKET SOUP - all of them identical and sounding the same - trained well - but with no creativity apart from being able to PHOTOCOPY other stars from the past.

The MUSIC INDUSTRY is responsible.

I would burn down the BRIT school. I would BAN anyone who goes to PERFORMING ARTS schools full time from the MUSIC INDUSTRY and turn it over to rebellious talented unique individuals with SOMETHING TO SAY.

The MUSIC INDUSTRY in the UK is dead. Killed by itself. A mass suicide of talent nominated by the leaders of our Major Labels who turned music into a commodity no different from selling Beans in Tescos. Where every song is like a BIG MAC - the same and boring and tasteless.

No wonder the kids have deserted modern music and we have Videos and artists getting ever desperate and parading in their knickers in order to use their sexuality as the last resort of attraction to the tweenagers.

I notice ITV have decided to put X Factor in direct competition against this tomorrow night. I would love it if Must Be The Music could completely trounce it in the ratings. Though obviously with X Factor being the more estabilshed show that's unlikely. If they can make a dent in X Factor's ratings it'll be a victory.

As for the quality of the songs - there have been a few really good ones for me, particularly 'Made in England' by Missing Andy, who I now think are likely to win the final, and also 'Chavs All Stare' by Bebe, who didn't get though to the semi final. Coindentally I met him shortly after the show, very strange person.

Well it will be a 2 horse race now between Emma's Imagination and Pepper & Piano

Prediction:
1 Emma's Imagination
2 Pepper & Piano
3 The Pictures

Though the only memorable song for me is Made In England by Missing Andy, but it won't win.
